Several reflexology professionals were hired to give free foot massage services to visitors during Hong Kong ArtWalk 2014. This was an experience-oriented piece, as the collective tried to disconnect the senses of seeing, hearing and touching by simultaneously distorting the audience’s minds. Foot massage businesses are known for their ‘seediness’ in some parts of Asia, and the artists used this notion as a social symbol to create paradoxical tension (participants heard ‘heavy breathing’) while reminding them of the event's purpose (reflexologists providing a simple foot massage).
